A&P Group Defence supports the defence maritime community across the globe with its dedicated division, headquartered at it's A&P Falmouth facility.

With a long history of service to the Royal Navy, Royal Fleet Auxiliary and overseas navies, A&P Group has delivered more than 200 refits, maintenance periods and conversions for the governments of the United Kingdom, Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Germany and Lithuania.

The combination of A&P's skilled workforce which includes naval architects, designers and specialist fabricators, as well as extensive, well-equipped facilities across the UK, underpins A&P Group's  unfaltering commitment to quality driven engineering excellence.

Thanks to A&P’s highly skilled workforce and strong working relationships with shipyards around the world, A&P is able to undertake major packages of work within a ship’s operating area and this has earned A&P an enviable reputation in the sector.

A&P has extensive defence expertise having built modules of new build ships such as the Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carriers, Bay Class landing ships and offshore patrol vessels for Oman and Brazil.  More recently A&P began its high-profile Ministry of Defence (MoD) contract to customise and fit out all four of the RFA’s new fleet Tide class tankers, starting with the RFA Tidespring, and co-ordinate full military Capability Assessment Trials to prepare the ships for operational service. Under the Ministry of Defence’s RFA Through Life Support Contracts, A&P Group also provides maintenance support to groups of MoD vessels at home and abroad until 2018 - including RFA Argus and the RFA Bay Class vessels - Mounts Bay, Cardigan Bay and Lyme Bay.

A&P Group’s defence expertise ensures:

  • A fully partnered and collaborative working relationship
  • Seamless delivery of technical capabilities, borne from our experience of ship conversion across the commercial and defence sectors
  • Access to the UK’s largest commercial ship repair facilities to offer unrivalled flexibility and effective cost optimisation
  •  A track  record of continually delivering audited savings to the MoD
  • Proven track record of technical and contractual mitigated risk
