RFA Argus Departs APCL A&P Falmouth after Successful Maintenance Period.
APCL Group bid a fond farewell to RFA Argus as she sailed from APCL's A&P Falmouth facility following an extensive maintenance period prior to deploying on Operations.
APCL Group is immensely proud of its longstanding partnership with the UK Ministry of Defence, Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary during which it has delivered Through-Life Support to RFA Argus, LSDA’s, HMS Scott, Tide Class Tankers, Wave AO, RFA Fort Victoria, RFA Stirling Castle and RFA Proteus.
During this time, A&P Falmouth and the wider APCL Group has developed a unique understanding of each vessel - supporting them across the globe whilst they are in operational theatre.
RFA Argus’ comprehensive overhaul included significant upgrades and alterations to her aircraft lift, as well as the upgrade, overhaul and the replacement of several onboard systems.
This period marks a crucial phase in ensuring the continued service of RFA Argus ahead of her programmed Ship Life Extension due to commence later this year.
Mike Spicer, Managing Director of A&P Falmouth, added: "RFA Argus is no stranger to Falmouth, and we are immensely proud to have been working so closely with her ship's company, sub-contractors, and partners in DE&S to ensure this vital capability is ready and available for her future taskings."
“This support period also presented a great opportunity for our apprentices here at A&P Falmouth to gain valuable experience working on and supporting MOD vessels.”
“We wish RFA Argus and her crew all the best on her next deployment.”
