A&P Falmouth has successfully concluded its year of fundraising for Children’s Sailing Trust (CST) as its Charity of the Year, culminating in an outstanding result at its Annual Charity Golf Day.

Throughout 2023/24, A&P Falmouth has raised a total of £26,806.20 for the charity.

A&P’s fundraising efforts have spanned a variety of events, including participation in local regattas and boat races. In addition to financial contributions, A&P Falmouth also sent volunteers to CST’s base at Trevassack Lake, where they carried out essential maintenance work and repairs on the charity’s waterborne equipment. The company also utilised its supply chain discounts to benefit CST, enhancing the charity’s resources and operations.

The grand total of £26,806.20 was announced during the Annual Charity Golf Day held on 7th August at Falmouth Golf Club. The event saw Team EAPL, an A&P subcontractor, win the golf competition, and they were presented with the winner’s trophy by Mike Spicer. Paul Kneebone served as scorer and Master of Ceremonies during the event.

Children’s Sailing Trust provides accessible sailing opportunities for local children and young people, while teaching the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) syllabus, instilling essential water safety skills and offering a transformative experience that improves mental health and builds confidence.

Emma Gooding Head of Fundraising CST, said: “We are truly humbled that our small charity was selected by A&P Falmouth as their charity of the year. Their support has had a significant and far-reaching impact, and along the way, we’ve made lasting friendships with individuals who we know will continue to stand by us. Together, we are all working to open up the opportunities our county offers to the young people who call it home.”

Mike Spicer, Managing Director of A&P Falmouth said: “I am very proud of the commitment and generosity shown by everyone at A&P Falmouth throughout our year of supporting Children’s Sailing Trust. From fundraising events to hands-on volunteering, the team has gone above and beyond to make a real difference as more children in Cornwall are given the opportunity to sail.”
