A&P GROUP WELCOMES THE PUBLICATION OF UK GOVERNMENT’S GUIDANCE ON TRAVELLERS WHO ARE EXEMPT FROM UK BORDER RULES.

Coronavirus (Covid-19): travellers exempt from UK border rules, published on 22nd May 2020, provides guidelines on exemptions from self-isolation requirements on arrival into the UK.

Exemptions include:

  • Workers with special technical skills which are required for essential or emergency works or services to ensure the movement of goods.
  • Seamen and masters.
  • Inspectors and surveyors of ships.
  • Defence personnel and contractors undertaking necessary work for the delivery of essential defence activity.

David McGinley, Managing Director of Atlantic and Peninsula Marine Services Ltd, welcomes the Government’s clarification on this issue.

These exemptions are crucial if we are to continue to support MoD, Royal Fleet Auxiliary, and provide essential emergency work / services to the Seaborne asset community and international commercial fleets.”
