A&P GROUP SUPPORTS ARMED FORCES WEEK.
A&P Group was once again proud to support Armed Forces Week and celebrate our close links with the UK’s military.
Not only are we proud to serve the Ministry of Defence through our dedicated Defence Division, but also count a number of former service personnel as some of our most valued employees.
Throughout Armed Forces Week, A&P Group reiterated just how important the event is to us by showcasing just some of those who have made the transition from military to civilian life and now work at A&P.
David McGinley, Chief Executive Officer Cammell Laird Ship Repairers and Shipbuilders Ltd, Atlantic & Peninsula Marine Services Ltd, said: “A&P Group’s commitment to the armed forces lies at the heart of our business and everything we do.
“We are immensely proud of our role in supporting the Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary by maintaining their fleet here in the UK and whilst in operational theatre across the globe.
“We are also proud to support those who have served in the armed forces. A&P is a welcome employer to ex-service men and women by helping them to develop a civilian career – one in which they can use the vital skills they have developed whilst serving in the armed forces. We also support those employees who continue to serve our country as Reservists, enabling them to have at least five days additional leave for training or mobilisations.”
A&P Group has demonstrated our support for the Armed Forces community by signing up to the Armed Forces Covenant, which is a promise from the nation that those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
To demonstrate our commitment to the covenant, A&P Group has made a number of pledges, laying out just how the company supports, promotes and upholds the principles of the covenant.
A&P Group’s commitment to the Armed Forces and its personnel, past and present, has also been recognised by the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) which encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same.
A&P Group is the recipient of an ERS Silver Award and is striving to achieve Gold Award status this year. The ERS award shows that A&P Group is delivering tangible support for the Armed Forces community.
A&P Falmouth held an Armed Forces Day Ceremony which was hosted by Gerald Pitts, Managing Director A&P Defence, and attended by Brigadier Jock Fraser RM, Regional Commander for the Navy for the South West, Wales and West Midlands.
