NEW DEFENCE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR FOR A&P.

Global ship repair, conversion and marine specialist A&P Group, has appointed Matt Weetch as Business Development Director for its Defence division.

A&P Defence delivers marine, in-service support and fabrication services to the international defence sector. Matt will now be tasked with leading, managing and winning defence-related bids and will focus on the delivery of new business and supporting the growth of A&P’s dedicated defence division.

Matt brings both engineering and operational experience following a 25-year career in the Royal Navy and also has a wealth of marine industry expertise and was instrumental in the delivery of business streams for Safeguard Engineering Ltd.

Gerald Pitts, Defence Managing Director, A&P Group, said: “A&P Group has a well-earned reputation for delivering first class marine and fabrications services to Royal Navy, Royal Fleet Auxiliary, Tier One supply chain and overseas Navies.

“A&P has delivered more than 200 refits, maintenance periods and conversions on behalf of our defence customers whilst our dedicated In-Service Support team provides support to the Royal Fleet Auxiliary whilst they are in operational theatre across the globe.

“Matt will now work to further develop our defence portfolio and secure additional marine, fabrication and in-service support contracts both here in the UK and overseas.”
