A&P TYNE WELCOMES TEN APPRENTICES AND NEW TRAINING OFFICER.
A&P Tyne is demonstrating its commitment to investing in the future of its skilled workforce by appointing ten new apprentices along with a new Training Officer.
The apprentices will be attending either Gateshead College, South Tyneside College or Middlesbrough College, depending on apprenticeship, until Easter 2020 and will then join their colleagues on site at A&P Tyne to begin their practical experience.
A&P Tyne has also recruited a new Training Officer to oversee the progress of the new apprentices. Jim Penketh has joined A&P Tyne and will support the apprentices as they progress with their careers with A&P.
Keith Henry, Managing Director of A&P North East, said: “A&P Group is committed to employing apprentices. We strongly believe that by continuing to invest in apprenticeships we are investing in the future of A&P by developing a skilled workforce.
“The development of highly skilled trades persons has been a major contributor to obtaining the high level of credibility A&P has within the ship repair industry.”
Mr Henry added: “I welcome our latest intake of apprentices at A&P Tyne and wish them every success over the next four years. I am also pleased to welcome Jim Penketh to our team as our new Training Officer and expect his appointment to further enhance our training record.”
