A&P Falmouth ‘Kicks Off’ another year of giving with Falmouth Community Football Sponsorship.
The latest beneficiary of A&P Falmouth’s charitable and community-focused endeavours is Falmouth Harriers Under 11s football team - part of the successful Falmouth Community Football Club.
As one of the largest employers in Falmouth, A&P was keen to show its support to the team and has contributed towards the cost of winter coats, which will be worn during warm-up and while on the bench on match-days.
The Falmouth Harriers’ sponsorship is another sign of A&P’s commitment to charity, having supported a wide variety of local and international charitable initiatives. Projects included overseas donations of IT equipment and football kit to Assiduous Africa, a charity run by A&P electrician, Sam Korankye and his family, and sending duvets for the humanitarian crisis in Syria in partnership with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary.
Local charities and cultural events benefitted from A&P’s engagement in 2017. The Falmouth team supported The Mission to Seafarers’ Falmouth Flying Angel Centre - a drop-in centre for seafarers of all ranks and nationalities based inside Falmouth Docks, and also sponsored the ever-popular Cornwall Male Voice Choir concert and, in a collaboration with P&O, The Mission to Seafarers and Highway Church, supplied food to Falmouth Salvation Army to enable them to provide Christmas Day meals for the homeless. During the year dozens of other good causes were helped in one way or another from upgrading benches on Falmouth’s seafront to the Fireworks Finale of Falmouth Week.
Steve Jones, Managing Director of Operations and Site Director at A&P Falmouth said: “At A&P we take our corporate social responsibilities seriously and believe in giving something back to Falmouth and supporting charities that work in the marine industry. We have partnered with some fantastic organisations both locally and overseas during the past 12 months and feel honoured that we can help them to make a positive impact on people’s lives.
“Sponsoring the Falmouth Harriers Under 11s is just the latest in a long line of examples that really demonstrates our commitment to supporting local projects. While buying the team’s coats is a relatively small contribution, it will make a very real difference to the young players and we’re delighted we could help.”
