Purpose of Role:

Responsible for all quality functions throughout the business, developing, implementing, and maintaining the processes through which quality standards are maintained & improved within the North East business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain business quality management systems in accordance with ISO 9001, BS3834 and EN 1090, to promote the QMS’s as a practical discipline both operationally and culturally by supporting continuous improvement, consistent and effective conformance to requirements.
  • To provide best practice tools and facilitate the sharing of best practice at all levels of the business and amongst all disciplines.
  • Monitoring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including reporting.
  • Whilst reporting directly to the Managing Director, will also interface with all other functions within the business.
  • Deliver a dynamic quality culture and management systems that engages all parts of the company.
  • Act as a catalyst for change and improvement in quality performance.
  • In conjunction with estimating department review tender documentation to ascertain quality, testing and inspection requirements.
  • Design and implement in-house quality standards, procedures, specifications.
  • Publish KPI’s that reflect the quality performance throughout the business.
  • Review quality training requirements throughout the quality department and implement suitable training programs to ensure all employees are fully conversant with business quality procedures and processes requirements.
  • Coach and develop the quality team to maximise the team’s performance.
  • Plan and execute internal auditing process to authenticate compliance to international standards, statutory and regulatory requirements along with project specifications.
  • Develop collaborative working relationship with client’s representatives and independent verification bodies surveyors throughout the lifecycle of projects.
  • Ensure quality team provide support to all functions of the business.
  • Ensure all quality issues are investigated, mitigation implemented, and findings reported to senior management team.

Qualification and Experience    

  • Qualified quality assessor and quality systems
  • Experience of leading a quality function
